Past Suns shooting guards like Joe Johnson and Raja Bell were successful in Phoenix orange and purple, but they didn't do enough to be considered among the best. His numbers aren't among the elites (14.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game), but his ability to defend (two All-Defensive teams) and space the floor made Majerle a great shooting guard for Phoenix.
