As a part of the last Warriors’ championship team in 1975, Phil Smith provided a great defensive prowess in his reserve role. The following year, he received his one and only All-Star selection.

In his three year stint with Golden State, Baron Davis was the leader of the infamous eighth seed team that defeated the number one seed Dallas Mavericks in the 2007 playoffs. Davis’ 20.1 points and 8.1 assists that year took them all the way to the Western Conference Semifinals, which ended a 12 year playoff drought.

The man who pretty much created the point guard position for the franchise was Guy Rodgers. From 1958-66, he led the Warriors to the playoffs four times with one NBA Finals appearance in that mix. Rodgers' play-making ability led him to be known as one of the league’s best ball-handlers back in the day. His franchise record in assists (4,855) still stands to this day.

One of the best point guards in NBA history made his home in Golden State from 1989-96. Tim Hardaway saw the playoffs three times and became second on the all-time assist leaderboard for the franchise.
