For those who don’t know the name Emmanuel Mudiay, you will soon enough. After all, he is going to be the next big NBA star.

Mudiay was previously supposed to play for the SMU Mustangs, but decided to take his talents overseas instead to play in China.
There is a chance that Mudiay goes No. 1 overall in the next NBA draft, and for good reason. It’s always tough to judge those kinds of things based off of a kid who has yet to play a single game in college, but Mudiay is the real deal.
That is at least what everyone is saying and what film on him would suggest.
It would have been great to see Mudiay playing at the college level, especially for a team like the Mustangs. SMU is nowhere near being a powerhouse in college hoops, but it has the talent to make the 2015 NCAA tournament. That was the case before Mudiay was even supposed to join the team. Heck, Larry Brown‘s team would have likely competed for a title with Mudiay in the lineup, but now we will never know.
Who knows how Mudiay will do in China, if he will go No. 1 overall in the draft or if Under Armour made the right decision by inking him, but I am sure we will find out very soon.
For what it’s worth, I believe Under Armour made a great decision because this kid is going to be a star.
