As a Miami Heat fan, you have to admit that the media scrutiny and microscope over the last four years has grown rather old. The constant “Big 3″ talk, the unhealthy obsession with LeBron James and every single shoe lace examined down to the final thread had become rather ridiculous. However, now that “He Who Shall Not Be Named” has left South Beach, the team should expect tranquility in and around team activities.
First, I would like to thank James for waiting to turn his head into a Chia Pet and reseed his hair after he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I guess he was worried about that gargantuan forehead catching frostbite in those Great Lakes winters. Other than that, it is somewhat a relief that James has taken himself and all the drama associated with being, himself, back to his hometown.
As for the Heat, credit must be given to Pat Riley and his ability to improvise. Somehow he managed to put together a roster that has a legit shot at the NBA playoffs and possibly even a top four team in the East. Of course there will still be Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, but they will garnish no where near the amount of attention that James produces or the three of them combined did for the last four seasons.
After four years of non-stop nagging from the media, I think the whole organization is glad to get a breather from center stage. Without the magnifying glass, I expect Bosh to play much better and I even expect Wade to come back healthy and recharged. There’s no question that James left a bit of a chip on everyone’s shoulders, especially Wade, and it should be no secret that the new Heat want to succeed and crush the Cavs. Thanks for the memories, LeBron, but you can keep the circus that follows your every move. Enjoy Cleveland and the rust bucket it is.
