When you think about dominant centers over the past two decades in the NBA, two of them suited up for Orlando. That’s impressive that one franchise could boast having two players of that caliber. The problem in terms of their history, though, is that both players left the Magic in their prime and the rest of their centers aren’t much to speak of. Regardless, these are the five best centers to play for the Magic.

Doleac had his three best seasons in the NBA with Orlando, though they weren’t that impressive. 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game were his averages, but that goes to show you how shallow the talent is for the Magic at center in their history.

Seikaly was only with the Magic for one season, but was he ever impressive during that year. He put up 17.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in that one year. Had his tenure been longer, he’d be an easy number three.

3. Tony Battie

Though Battie’s stats never wowed anyone, he had an undeniably respectable four year run in Orlando. His averages of 5.9 points, five boards and 0.7 blocks in 22.5 minutes per game don’t wow anyone, but he was a solid, integral cog in the 2000s for the Magic.

2. Dwight Howard

Before he forced his way out of town, the Magic had the best center in the league with Howard. Over his eight seasons in Orlando, the big man put up 18.4 points, 13 rebounds, one steal and 2.2 blocks per game, including averages of 20.6 points, 13.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game over his final five years with the team. He may have left on a sour note, but he was dominant while he was there.

If Howard was dominant while in Orlando, we need to develop a new word for what Shaq was when he first came into the league. His combination of size and athleticism were unmatched in the league, allowing him to put up 27.2 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.8 blocks per game on 58.1 percent shooting in four years with the Magic. He went on to do other obviously great things, but he started that trend in Orlando.
