The Golden State Warriors aren’t known for their players at the center position. The players who had the most success at rebounding and shot blocking came and went long before any of the players on the team today. Though the Warriors aren’t known for their big men, these five guys are not only the top five centers in team history but a few of the best players in league history.

Parish’s best career seasons came after he left the Warriors, but he is on the top 10 lists of rebounding and blocked shots in Golden State Warriors history.

Lucas played on the San Francisco Warriors as both center and power forward. Lucas was an NBA All-Star in 1971 and aided in the Warriors' return to the playoffs in that same year.

3. Neil Johnston (1951-1959)

Johnston was a Warrior through and through. In his career, he only played for the Philadelphia Warriors and only coached the Warriors as well. Johnston was an NBA All-Star six times, a three-time league scoring champion and was on the Warriors' championship team in 1956.

2. Nate Thurmond (1963-1974)

One of the greatest shot blockers, rebounders and players in the history of basketball, Thurmond was the backup center for the Warriors. He was an All-Star six times while on the Warriors, his number was by retired by the team and to top it all off, he has been named “Warriors Legend and Ambassador” by the organization.

Chamberlain is one of the best and most dominant players in the history of the NBA. He is not only the best Warrior of all time; he is one of the best players of all time. During his tenure with the Warriors he was league MVP (1960), a four-time NBA All-Star, four-time rebounding champion and the Warriors' all-time leading scorer.
