Orlando Magic: Tobias Harris Proves He Deserves Contract Extension
Tobias Harris has been a breath of fresh air ever since he came to the Orlando Magic in 2012.
Harris is the complete package. He can run, dunk, shoot the outside jumper, rebound, pass and defend. There is no wonder why the Magic were so high on him, and the Milwaukee Bucks were so depressed to him go. But now, Harris is due for a contract extension, and this is the year that Harris needs to prove that he can become a big-time star.
He has all the tools to become a major star, but injuries have derailed his progress from a solid NBA player to a great one. Now that the injuries seems to be behind him, Harris is going out to prove that he is can be a star talent, and more importantly, that he deserves a nice contract extension from the Magic.
Just as it is imperative for Harris to prove himself, it is also imperative for the Magic to hang on to Harris. Harris is a rare talent, a player who can play inside and out, and the Magic has not had a player like this on the wing since Tracy McGrady. So to avoid making the same mistakes as they did with McGrady, Orlando must take out the checkbook and lock up Harris now.
So far this preseason, Harris is playing like a player who is ready for the big time. Now it is time for the Magic to start paying Harris like the money player he is.
