You could make an argument that the Knicks have gotten better almost across the board except at the center position. The preseason will give us a big look at how Samuel Dalembert, Andrea Bargnani, and even Cole Aldrich will perform in this new system and how things will work on the interior going forward.

There’s no doubt that going from Felton to Calderon at the point is a huge upgrade, but the preseason will let us see just how big of an upgrade it is and how much better the team can look with their new point guard.

The Knicks have made it relatively clear that they are unsure how Shumpert fits into their future. With that in mind, it’ll be curious to see how engaged Shumpert is to start the preseason. Will he be playing to prove himself or playing like he’s ready to leave New York.
