Last season, point guard John Wall of the Washington Wizards emerged as one of the game's brightest young stars. Wall reached the postseason and was named an All-Star for the first time in his career. That was only the beginning of things come, as Wall seeks to establish himself as one of the top point guards in the game. Let's take a look at some of the accomplishments that might be on Wall's to-do list in 2014-15.

John Wall is one of the best distributing point guards in the game and is adept at finding his teammates for open jumpers. Last season, Wall accumulated 721 assists, an average of 8.8 per game. While he's already an excellent passer, there's always room to improve. Wall should aim for 800 assists on the season and average nearly 10 dimes per game.

Wall finished eighth in the NBA with 149 steals last season, averaging 1.82 per game. His agility and athleticism allow him to intercept passes and pickpocket opposing players. To further his growth as an NBA All-Star, Wall should continue to improve on the defensive side, and averaging two steals per contest is a reasonable goal.

If there's a weakness in Wall's game, it's his jump shot. He was 16th among NBA point guards in field goal percentage at 43.4 percent. Increasing this number to 45 percent would put him right in the top 10 where he belongs. Adding the ability to consistently hit 15-20 foot jumpers would make guarding Wall even more difficult.

2. Become an All-NBA Point Guard

Wall was just shy of making the All-NBA third team last season with 70 votes. He has once said that he wants to be the best point guard in the game, and this would be another step towards reaching that goal. Making at least second team All-NBA should be within reach for Wall if he continues to improve.

The Wizards had a great season in 2013-14, winning a playoff series before losing in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Washington has all the pieces to return to the postseason and even go a step further than before. With the breakup of the big three in Miami, the Eastern Conference is back up for grabs, and the Wizards will be right there in contention.
