It's almost hard for me to say, but I'm going to say it: Jeremy Lin was one of the most underrated acquisitions in the 2014 NBA offseason. There, I said it. Although it sounds like it was tough for me to admit this fact, it is true. Lin will help the Lakers tremendously. How? Well, here are five reasons why Lin will succeed in Hollywood.

5. Youth Will Fit The New Lakers' Tempo

The Lakers desperately needed more youth as the team prepares for life without Kobe Bryant. With new head coach Byron Scott instituting a new, up-tempo offense, Lin is perfectly suited for the role, as he will be able to push the ball up the floor quickly and find the open teammate.

It takes a lot of patience to play with a player as demanding as Kobe Bryant. Thankfully, Lin can deal with anybody, especially after having to deal with the egos of James Harden and Dwight Howard. So Lin will mesh right away with the Lakers' eccentric lineup.

3. Bringing 'Showtime' Back To The Lakers

Lin is an up-tempo, flashy kind of point guard, and he is in the right place with the right coach to allow him to unleash all of his game. Laker games will be more exiting in 2014-15 with Lin running the show.

2. Scoring Ability

A lot of people tend to forget that Lin has an uncanny ability to put the ball in the hoop. Whether it is by taking the ball to the basket or hitting three-pointers, when put in the right system, Lin can easily give a team 16 to 20 points a night. With Scott's up-tempo offense, Lin is in the right system.

With Lin's ability to run an up-tempo offense and his ability to be a scoring option, he will team up with Kobe and rookie Julius Randle to lead the Lakers to a much more successful season. The Lakers will not make the playoffs, but the team should have a few more wins than in 2013-14.
