The 2014-15 NBA regular season will kick off in less than a week and the preseason is giving us as good of an idea as possibly as to how things could shape up in the league, though. Even with that, though, there’s the chance the landscape of the league could still change, via injuries or even trades. Here are 15 players who could very well be on the move this season.

15. Tristan Thompson

Though it figures that Thompson will be relatively key off of the bench for the Cavs this season, he’s also an interesting trade chip. As Cleveland likely looks to add talent at the center position, Thompson could be the piece they’re willing to deal to make that happen.

14. Gerald Henderson

Henderson isn’t a player whose performance has change a great deal by any stretch, but he’s now in a crowded wing rotation in Charlotte with the arrival of Lance Stephenson. If he gets upset at his minutes this year, he could be on the move sooner rather than later.

13. Ersan Ilyasova

The Bucks could be more exciting and better than you think this season, though it’s hard to see them in the postseason. In the interest of getting their young core minutes, though, Ilyasova could be a veteran that they’ll look to get assets back for.

12. David West

Without Paul George, the Pacers’ 2014-15 season could get pretty dreadful pretty quickly. With that and a slew of veterans on their roster, it wouldn’t surprise me to see West or other veterans be moved at some point this season.

11. Kendrick Perkins

People have been calling for a Perkins trade forever, but the Thunder have held strong in keeping him. Now that Steven Adams has emerged as a legit rotation piece, though, it wouldn’t be a shock to see this be the year that Perkins finally is pushed out of OKC.

10. Nikola Pekovic

It’s no secret that the Wolves are going to be in rebuilding mode after the Kevin Love trade. As they look to build around the youngsters, they may look to shed salary and veterans. Though talented, Pekovic could be a casualty of that.

9. Eric Gordon

Entering the final year of his contract that is fully guaranteed, Gordon seems likely to be moved. He can’t stay healthy, but is talented enough that someone might take a one-season flyer. The Pelicans could be looking to free up cap space and also sure up their rotation, which seems to make Gordon’s days in New Orleans numbered.

8. Tayshaun Prince

Prince has been ineffective for the last few seasons now in Memphis. With Quincy Pondexter healthy and Vince Carter arriving, his minutes now may be dwindling as well. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him dealt, possibly for more depth at point guard.

7. Gerald Green

Green’s shooting from long-range was key to Phoenix’s shocking charge towards the postseason last year, but how sustainable is that? He can still be a valuable role player, but with that role becoming smaller with the Suns, it’s hard to think the organization won’t look to trade him.

6. Chase Budinger

As the Wolves rebuild, they also need to trim their roster a bit. With a moveable contract for a solid player like Budinger, it wouldn’t be crazy to see Budinger be the first guy on this list traded.

In the imminent cataclysmic event known as the 2014-15 Philadelphia 76ers season, no one is safe.

4. Roy Hibbert

The same case as West in Indiana, Hibbert could be a victim of the Pacers trying to restructure things in George’s absence. His star has certainly falling, but the real question is what the Pacers could get for the big man in a deal.

3. Iman Shumpert

Shumpert doesn’t look like he’s going to be given an extension before the season begins. With Phil Jackson looking to restructure the Knicks, that could be a loud sign that his days in New York are numbered and that he will be on the move this season.

2. Josh Smith

There’s no question that the Pistons can’t survive with three frontcourt players like Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond all needing minutes. With Smith’s salary and the likely scenario that Detroit won’t let Drummond go, Smith seems like the natural best candidate to be dealt.

1. Rajon Rondo

Rondo is clearly the most likely person to be traded. He’s injured; the Celtics are rebuilding; Boston’s backcourt is crowded. It just seems like the stage is set for Rondo to finally be gone from the team that he’s spent his whole career with up to this point.
