The Los Angeles Lakers were nearly insufferable last season. Their hope was supposed to be the return of Kobe Bryant, but even that fell short as he was promptly injured once again. Now they’re looking to improve from their dismal showing. Here’s the outlook for the 2014-15 Los Angeles Lakers.

The most recent (and upsetting) subtraction from this team is the loss of Steve Nash for the season and possibly the end of his career. Outside of that, the Lakers lost a pretty hefty amount, saying goodbye to Pau Gasol, Jordan Farmar, Kendall Marshall, Jodie Meeks and Chris Kaman.

Obviously getting Kobe Bryant is the biggest part of the Lakers season. Adding guys like Carlos Boozer, Ed Davis, Jeremy Lin, and rookies Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle are also decent additions for this Lakers team.

Lin and Kobe will undoubtedly be heading up the backcourt consistently while the rest of the starters could be shuffled. To start the year, though, you have to think that Wes Johnson, Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill will round out the starters.

Julius Randle is a guy that needs to have a big role and I don’t see any reason why he won’t behind Boozer. Davis, Wayne Ellington, Ryan Kelly, and Xavier Henry could be big pieces off of the bench for L.A. as well. Once he returns from injury, Nick Young will also be featured, much to the delight of anyone who enjoys chucking.

This year’s version of the Lakers won’t be the train wreck that they were last season and their national TV appearances should be bearable. However, this team isn’t constructed to where they can succeed this year. As a result, I’ve got them pegged for 30 wins.
