Predicting the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Final 2014-15 Roster
The Cleveland Cavaliers had by far the best offseason of any team in the NBA. This franchise went from being a bottom-feeder in the Eastern Conference to one of the most feared teams in the league. The additions of LeBron James and Kevin Love make the Cavaliers’ starting lineup deadly with Kyrie Irving running the point. The draw of playing next to LeBron was enough to bring over several talented players to make this team one of the best.
The Cavaliers were also able to bolster their bench this offseason by signing players like Mike Miller and James Jones, seasoned veterans who can make an immediate impact off the bench with wicked three-point shooting. This team has the right combination of youth and experience to get the job done in the playoffs, and having the best player on the planet return doesn’t hurt their chances either.
Heading into the 2014-15 season, the Cavaliers will carry Irving, A.J. Price and Stephen Holt at point guard. Dion Waiters, Miller and Matthew Dellavedova will man the shooting guard spot, while the trio of James, Shawn Marion and Jones should give the team good depth at small forward. Love, Tristan Thomas, Lou Amundson will be the power forwards, and the rosters will be rounded out by centers Anderson Varejao, Brendan Hayward and Alex Kirk.
One area that could hold this team back is the lack of playoff experience of the starting lineup outside of James. Still, the championship experience that players like Marion, Miller, Jones and James have should be enough to help this team rise to the top of the conference heading into the playoffs.
