5 Reasons Charlotte Hornets Fans Should Be Excited For 2014-15 Season

Everyone in Charlotte came to their senses and realized being the Charlotte Bobcats was a bad idea. It was probably the worst name in professional sports. Switching to anything would be an improvement, but they took a step further by going back to their Charlotte Hornet heritage. The new uniforms and court look great and it has the fanbase excited for this season.

Charlotte backed into a top 10 pick in last year's draft and ended up with Noah Vonleh. The young big man has a very high ceiling and will be a point of interest for every Hornets fan. The good news for Vonleh is that he will be able to ease into the action because the Hornets have a solid frontcourt.

A lot of people questioned the decision to sign Al Jefferson to a big contract last year, but the naysayers were quickly silenced. Jefferson struggled with some injuries at the end of the year, but he is coming into this season 100 percent healthy. He should have another big season as the Hornets look to take another step forward.

Kemba Walker will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season which makes it an important year for him. He has the chance to make himself a lot of money if he has a big season. Walker should be able to take a step back in the scoring department with the additions to the team and focus on being a better all-around player.

Charlotte has been missing a legitimate wing player for the past few seasons. Lance Stephenson isn't without flaws, but he is a big upgrade for the Hornets. He will help Charlotte on both sides of the ball and is the reason why many fans are expecting the Hornets to take a step forward this season.
