The Heat lost the best basketball player in the world this offseason, but there’s still plenty to be excited about. Look at these five reasons for Heat fans to be pumped this year.

While it may have been an attempt to keep LeBron James, the Heat acquired Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts in free agency. Miami recently picked up Shannon Brown as well. These players add experience to an already seasoned group. Heat fans can expect solid play out of these guys all season.

LeBron was supposedly a big fan of Napier, but obviously not big enough. The Heat did, however, address a major need at the point guard position. If Napier can replicate his college success in the pros, Heat fans will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

No one man can replicate the impact or the production of LeBron James, but Deng is a very good wing player. He may not do everything LeBron did, but who can? He can score and defend, and he knows how to win. It might not be as big of a drop off as fans think.

2. Wade and Bosh

The Big 3 is no longer together, but Miami still has two thirds of that special group. Dwyane Wade is a proven leader, and Bosh has always been solid. With James gone, expect new responsibility for the both of them, but extra work is nothing new to these two.

Pat Riley is one of the most successful men in an NBA front office. Riley knows how to put together a championship team, and just because the season is starting doesn’t mean he can’t make any moves. Look for Riley to put the Heat in position to compete for the Eastern Conference.
