The Miami Heat have started out this season on a solid 2-0 start, and much of their success is due to how well this roster is already playing as a team. Even with the absence of you know who, the offense is flowing just as well as it did last season, but with Chris Bosh dictating the majority of the plays. This is one of the biggest reasons why the Heat have won these past two games against the Washington Wizards and the Philadelphia 76ers so decisively.
Over this two game stretch, Bosh has averaged 28.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, while shooting 51 percent from the field, and 55 percent from beyond the arc. That is absolutely ridiculous. Not even his Toronto days could Bosh have imagined putting up these types of numbers. It has been such a steady presence for the Heat’s starting lineup, which is also a major reason why the supporting cast has been so successful. The backcourt, which has been mainly Dwyane Wade, Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole and Shabazz Napier in particular, have played well with Bosh in the starting lineup, averaging 12 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists together.
Bosh only averaged 17 points and 7.5 rebounds on 50 percent shooting from the field in his first four seasons with Miami, so this big jump in his averages already is such a welcome sign for the franchise, and pointing to how successful this season could be. With Bosh as the focal point on offense, this team will go far, not only throughout the regular season, but also most definitely in the playoffs. Many thought the Heat would face a major drop-off with LeBron James’ averages no longer in the picture, but Bosh is proving that this team doesn’t need James to still be considered a contender in the Eastern Conference.
