Miami Heat Quickly Coming Back Down To Earth
It was all good just a week ago. The Miami Heat were flying high off of their first post-LeBron James win, the team looked reinvigorated and fans were caught up in the overreactions of a 3-0 start. Then, just like that the former champs came crashing back down to earth and began to look familiar.
If you think about it, the last two games were pretty amazing, in a not-so-good type of way.
The Heat are a team with seven new bodies on the roster, but somehow they managed to incorporate the same old bad habits of the previous two years worth of incarnations. It was as if they willingly chose to throw away three games of improvements to relive all of the things that everyone had complained about in the past.
“We don’t have that grace period like we had before, where we could make mistakes, not make the effort plays, and still find a way to win,” center Chris Bosh said, via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
We all know that the grace period, or luxury, that Miami players continue to mention is currently struggling down in Southeast Ohio, so the team cannot afford to step back on the court playing a stagnant offense where the basketball refuses to move. They also cannot show up with a sleepy defense that fails to recognize simple cuts that are happening directly in front of their faces.
If the team keeps reverting back to their old ways, it will be highly likely that a huge struggle will be in store for the next 77 games.
