Since the days of John Stockton and Karl Malone, the Utah Jazz have always appeared to be a team in flux. Sure, they had a couple nice runs in the mid 2000s with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer on the roster, but they have not been a true title contender in over 16 years. Now, with a new coach and a fresh batch of young talent, they are hoping they can finally right the ship. Here are the five toughest things about being a Utah Jazz fan.

In back-to-back seasons, the Jazz have used their first round draft choice to select a point guard. Trey Burke was picked by the team due to his knock-down shooting, while Dante Exum was added to the roster because of his defense and potential. Jazz fans have no idea who the team is focusing on to be the future starter for the team, and that has to be a little frustrating.

When Gordon Hayward signed a maximum offer sheet with the Charlotte Hornets this offseason (which the Jazz matched), many believed he was overpaid and would never live up to his big payday. But Hayward has started the season out strong, including a notable buzzer-beater against the Cleveland Cavaliers. But Jazz fans are still trying to figure out if he will morph into a superstar or just end up being a very good player.

When teams are bad, the word "potential" is thrown around rather aimlessly in hopes of trying to get fans to think of what could possibly happen in the future. Jazz fans have been hearing this for a long time now, especially when it comes to their front court of Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter. These guys both have the tools to be this team's starting front court for the next decade, but can they actually put it all together?

2. Missing Jerry Sloan Like Crazy

Jerry Sloan is considered to be one of the greatest coaches in NBA history, despite somehow inexplicably never winning a "Coach of the Year" award or NBA championship. After serving the Jazz for 26 years, the rumor around the league is that Sloan stepped down in 2011 due to differences with the team's point guard at the time of his departure, Deron Williams. New Head Coach Quin Snyder has done a fine job so far, but Sloan is an absolute legend.

While it is not impossible, it is improbable that the Jazz will ever have a unique duo like that of John Stockton and Karl Malone ever again given Utah's small market. It is unfortunate that neither of these guys never won a championship for the city of Utah, but they came very close in 1997 and 1998. Sadly, this might be the closest Jazz fans get to a title for a while.
