With Thanksgiving just around the corner, now is a great time to reflect on those things that we as NBA fans and basketball junkies should be thankful for in regards to our team. Here are five things that Utah Jazz fans should be thankful for.

The NBA as a whole is great in terms of community outreach and the importance of giving back; the Utah Jazz are one of the teams that leads that charge. From serving Thanksgiving dinner to the needy to signing five-old-year old J.P. Gibson (who suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia) to a one-day contract, the franchise is always looking for ways to give back.

The team's young core of players continues to display the kind of growth that should get fans excited. Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors are becoming stars in the league; Alec Burks, Enes Kanter and Trey Burke all have massive potential. Perhaps the most exciting player is Dante Exum, who could develop into an All-Star and franchise player for the Jazz.

3. Ownership/Stability as a Franchise

In a world where the Seattle Supersonics became the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Kings nearly left Sacramento and clubs fight with their local governments to get new arenas built, Jazz fans can take solace in the fact that the Miller family has paid off their arena and is committed to making sound business decisions to keep the team in Salt Lake City for good.

2. Stockton to Malone!

They could never quite get over that hump, but Karl Malone and John Stockton sustained a high level of success for nearly 20 years and provided NBA fans with some of best basketball ever played. Their bouts with Michael Jordan are the stuff of legend, not to mention the myriad of other amazing moments throughout their careers. Without Stockton and Malone, the Jazz wouldn't be where they are today.
