Many believed that Washington Wizards point guard John Wall played his best basketball in the 2013-2014 season. Contrary to belief, Wall is making it known that he is at the top of his game right now. If Wall can continue his MVP-type play all season, the Wizards are going to be a force in the Eastern Conference.

With a crazy 18 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game, Wall is proving to be one of the best all-around players in the NBA. It wasn’t too long ago that Wall was a prized pick in the NBA draft and now it seems as if he is the engine behind a Wizards team that is off to a great start this season.

The thing about Wall is that he hasn’t even reached his ceiling yet in terms of potential because once his jump shot gets better, he will be that more dangerous to opposing defenses. Compared to his 2013-2014 season, Wall is is down a point per game, but he has increased his rebound total and his assists. Along with the improving statistics, Wall is becoming a leader on the team and he is the one with the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.

Wall is budding into the next great NBA superstar in this league and is living up to all of the hype that he had coming out of college. Don’t look now, but the Wizards have been a pretty dormant team over the past few years and this might be the season when it all comes together. Last year, the Wizards gave fans a nice little preview of what this team can be at the end of the season and now, behind Wall, they are big time contenders.

Even though Wall has been the hands-down MVP on the Wizards, I wouldn’t be surprised for his name to come up as a candidate for the NBA MVP at the end of the season.
