Have you always wondered why basketball players and other athletes will hold a part of their jersey in their mouth? For some, they do it when there is a moment of stillness, either a timeout was called or before someone shoots a free throw. It is to air out the perspiration from our jerseys getting stuck to us with all the sweat. It can even be a sign of confidence or nervousness. It is a way to put on our poker face without anyone calling our bluff.
