The Boston Celtics are winning too many games. Danny Ainge has done everything he can to put the team in full tank mode by trading away Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo. In contrast to Ainge’s intentions, coach Brad Stevens and his rag-tag Celtics team are winning games.

The C’s are far from a title-contending team and are on the fence for a lottery pick in this year’s draft. They aren’t bad enough and are to well coached to tank, it is time for the Celtics to sign a couple established young players to put them over the edge. They cannot rely on drafting the next Kevin Durant in the upcoming drafts.

The players are going to be there this offseason. There will be plenty of big names hitting free agency including Draymond GreenMarc GasolJimmy ButlerRudy Gay and others. The Celtics will certainly have enough money to spend on a big name player after getting rid of Rondo and Green.

Stevens is doing incredible things with the sorry group of players he is working with. The Celtics are currently 3-2 on their West Coast road trip and are simply finding ways to win games. Somebody please give this coach some decent players to work with. He could do some serious damage with a couple players who people have actually heard of.

Ainge is losing this game of “tug-of-war” to Stevens and must accept it. The fruition of this acceptance will be the signings of big name players this offseason.
