Nothing But Disappointment

Not every NBA team can have a successful year. From too much preseason hype to just plain bad, there has been a large discrepancy between the good, the bad and the ugly. Here are the top 10 disappointments thus far.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are not having a bad season, but based on the amount of preseason hype and the roster, they earn the 10th spot on this list. Things have not gone they way LeBron James or anyone else predicted. To sum it up, the first half was nothing worth remembering.
9. Indiana Pacers

The Paul George injury was a huge hit to the Indiana Pacers, but with Roy Hibbert and David West still on the roster, you would think there might be a few more wins to account for. Instead, Indiana will more than likely not make the playoffs and that makes them the ninth-most disappointing team.
8. Minnesota Timberwolves

No one can remember the last time the Minnesota Timberwolves were actually decent and it doesn't look like it will be any time soon. Once again, Minnesota will not make the postseason and who knows when they will change that. No more Al Jefferson, no Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio is a flop. That is all good enough to rank them as a disappointment.
7. Sacramento Kings

There was a glimmer of hope entering this season for the Sacramento Kings, but DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay could not turn it around. The West is tough, but at least put up a fight. No guts, no glory, no playoffs and just another disappointing team.
6. Philadelphia 76ers

No matter how many lottery picks this franchise gets, they remain garbage with no signs of getting better. Once again, the Philadelphia 76ers will earn a lottery pick and put it to waste. If I am Adam Silver, I would ban this team from lottery picks because it's pointless. There was no hope going into this season and there remains no hope in the City of Brotherly Love.
5. Brooklyn Nets

Between the injuries and ownership troubles, the Brooklyn Nets have gone from title contenders last season to a disappointment this season. If they are lucky, they will make the playoffs. However, even the No. 8 seed is in question for this sinking ship.
4. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers were already KO'd before the season started, but when Kobe Bryant is on your team, anything is possible. Well, Bryant is done for the season with a torn rotator cuff, and the Lakers have been pitiful from the start. With such a rich and historic past, there are always high expectations. Therefore, the Lakers are just disappointing.
3. Oklahoma City Thunder

Injuries could be to blame for the subpar season of the Oklahoma City Thunder, but nevertheless it is a disappointing one. Currently on the outside of the playoff race, the Thunder are dealing with another injury to Kevin Durant. One has to wonder what would have happened if James Harden still wore blue.
2. Charlotte Hornets

Lance Stephenson was supposed to propel the Charlotte Hornets into the top four in the East. Instead, the Hornets find themselves without Kemba Walker for at least six weeks and are clinging to a playoff spot. From contender to pretender, that is good enough for the second-most disappointingi team.
1. New York Knicks

Is there another team more deserving of the top spot than the New York Knicks? Expectations were not high to start the season, but it is New York and playoffs are always a must. Might I add that one of the top five coaches of all time is in the front office and Carmelo Anthony is still on the roster. To pour salt into the wound, the East is terrible and the Knicks are right at the bottom. Disappointment is an understatement.
