With the 2015 NBA trade deadline on Thursday, teams that are trying to be contenders down the stretch and into the playoffs are hoping to make a worthy move that will help them reach their ultimate goal. Even though this year’s trade rumors are not as exciting as in years past, there is still plenty to watch for. Here is a prediction of 10 trades that will likely happen by Feb. 19.

10. Arron Afflalo To Sacramento Kings

Arron Afflalo is one of the hotter names involved in trade rumors. Despite several teams hoping to acquire him, the Sacramento Kings have the edge for the simple reason that they want to acquire players more suited to George Karl’s playing style. Afflalo would be an upgrade at shooting guard and he would mark a good start for Sacramento’s rebuilding process.

9. Enes Kanter To Milwaukee Bucks

Anyone in the market for an offensive center is in luck because Enes Kanter has requested a trade from the Utah Jazz. One team in particular that could use a player of Kanter’s caliber is the Milwaukee Bucks, a team that’s seriously lacking at the center position. Giving up Larry Sanders would be ideal, but Milwaukee could settle for parting ways with Ersan Ilyasova. At this point, the Jazz need to get something for Kanter.

8. Reggie Jackson To Miami Heat

Even though the Miami Heat has three capable point guards, the reality is they need to make a move at the position if they want to seriously take a stab at the playoffs this season. One player who could potentially make a world of difference, especially on a team with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, is Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson. The impending free agent would be expected to re-sign with Miami in the offseason.

7. Norris Cole To Detroit Pistons

Speaking of Miami point guards, Norris Cole is definitely someone the Heat should consider trading. At 21-33, the Detroit Pistons are still very much in line to clinch the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. But, they need to acquire a point guard to replace Brandon Jennings in order for that to happen. Cole’s numbers are far from flashy, but he would provide quality depth at the position for the Pistons.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have done a terrific job in getting back in the race for a top seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite the roster coming into its own, the addition of one more veteran could prove to be a huge difference maker. The player Cleveland reportedly has their eyes on is Denver Nuggets point guard Jameer Nelson. He would be a solid backup for Kyrie Irving, while he also historically has had success from 3-point range.

5. Brook Lopez To Oklahoma City Thunder

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to get rid of as many players in possible, which includes Brook Lopez. The good news for them is the Oklahoma City Thunder have been after Lopez for months. For that reason, it’s believed they will make another offer at the trade deadline that is too good to turn down. It would be shocking if the Thunder were not where he ends up next week.

Like the Nets, the Nuggets are trying to sell off as many players as possible so they can begin the rebuild process. Other than Afflalo, the Nuggets also have Wilson Chandler on the trade block. With a couple of teams interested, the most likely of destinations is the Los Angeles Clippers. The reason is because the Clippers need an offensive guard who can fill in off the bench or for J.J. Redick while he deals with an injury.

3. Taj Gibson To Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are on the verge of putting together an incredible season. Of course, a good roster upgrade at the deadline could be the difference between reaching the NBA Finals and going home early. Gibson would represent a solid presence off the bench, which is something the Raptors are going to need down the stretch and into the postseason.

2. Goran Dragic To Houston Rockets

Possibly the most popular name with the trade deadline less than a week away is Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic. The Suns have an overflow at the guard position, which is why they must deal someone. The Houston Rockets need one more piece to make a serious push in the Western Conference. Many believe the person who could best fit that role for them is Dragic.

Forgive me for having Dragic on this list twice. The fact is if Dragic doesn’t get traded to the Rockets, the Los Angeles Lakers would be more than happy to make a move for him. No matter what happens, the Lakers intend to make a serious push for him once he hits free agency this summer. However, Los Angeles also would like to get a jumpstart on it by trading for him now.
