Just a few hours before NBA’s Thursday’s 3 PM ET Trade Deadline, the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings agreed to swap a couple veteran point guards. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting Andre Miller is headed to Sacramento in exchange for Ramon Sessions.

Both players are in the middle of the worst year of their career, but this trade isn’t a meaningless swap that will have no impact on the rest of the season. The Wizards have been on the lookout for a backup to John Wall and Sessions should provide at least a small upgrade. Any trade a team can make to improve their roster in preparation of a postseason run is worth doing, especially if it doesn’t sacrifice the future. Miller fell out of favor in Washington and lost his job to Garrett Temple, who himself is having a miserable season for the Wizards. Sessions is averaging just 5.4 points and 2.7 assists per game, but I expect him to pick up his play now that he’s on a playoff team.

Miller going to Sacramento is a reunion with new Kings coach George Karl. During Karl’s tenure with the Denver Nuggets, Miller was a key cog and leader on those playoff teams. It’s safe to assume Karl prodded the Kings front office to acquire Miller. He’s 38 years old and a leader in every sense of the word. Karl expects, and can count on a veteran presence like Miller to teach and lead the young Sacramento roster during their rebuild.

Wing players simply can't let big men make them look athletically inferior, which is undoubtedly what happened on this play. Hayward didn't have a clue.

DeMarcus Cousins Nearly Pulverizes Steven Adams With Haymaker

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams ought to be counting his blessings right now, as he essentially dodged a bullet on Monday night. Adams got locked up with Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who nearly lost his cool. Cousins began to swing a devastating haymaker that would have pulverized Adams into oblivion, but thankfully thought twice about it at the last second.
