The next platform for fan engagement has arrived. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Clippers announced their partnership with DeskSite to bring avid fans a new way for them to consume exclusive team content via this new free app.

The app is essentially a DVR for the Internet, which instantaneously provides HD content to desktops, laptops and tablets. A cool feature is that no Internet connection is needed, eliminating buffering, freezing and any sort of dropping associated with live video streaming.

Fans can relive Blake Griffin’s thunderous dunk or Chris Paul’s unbelievable no-look pass; catch pre-game and post-game conferences with coach Doc Rivers or replay their favorite moments on their devices. The fan experience just got serious for Clipper Nation.

The app was designed specifically for “Big Screens” as opposed to the NBA’s official team app, which is built for mobile devices. Content is automatically downloaded and saved to the users’ devices.

With the Clippers DeskSite app, fans can enjoy premium information like player analysis, breaking news, highlights, press conferences, interviews, spirit dancer spotlights and much more. If the highlight is too fast for you, simply rewind the playback and watch it in slow motion.

The Clippers are the first NBA team to offer this to their fans. It shouldn’t surprise anyone of this new venture. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is the former CEO of Microsoft. Technology is his specialty, and he will do everything to bring a more innovative approach to a highly tech-driven demographic.

“This unique digital technology is an important step towards our goal of developing the Clippers as the leader in providing our fans a first-class experience across all platforms,” said Clippers President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker.

DeskSite is a digital media company based in Irvine, California. They are currently involved with 19 NFL teams and more to come in 2015. The progressive company will continue to expand throughout the NBA and other sports teams as well.

The Clippers DeskSite is available for download from the Clippers’ website.
