2015 NBA Draft: 5 Best Fits For the Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are stuck in a tough spot in the loaded Western Conference. They have a handful of good players but don't have the one great player to put them over the top. Right now, they are slated for the seventh pick in the draft. However, Denver has a 15 percent chance to move into the top three of the draft. Here are five players who would be great fits for them regardless of where they end up in the first round.

5. D'Angelo Russell, PG, Ohio State

The Ty Lawson trade rumors will heat up after the season, and the Nuggets should consider it. Getting a player like D'Angelo Russell will help make that decision easier. He isn't an elite athlete but has great size for a point guard and will be a matchup problem for many teams. Russell has decent form but needs to become a more consistent shooter.

4. Willie Cauley-Stein, PF, Kentucky

Denver will also be getting plenty of calls about Kenneth Faried this summer. Willie Cauley-Stein would be a natural replacement for him and has the potential to be an elite defensive player in the NBA. His length and lateral quickness will make him a great pick and roll defender. His offensive game isn't on the same level, but he won't be a liability like players DeAndre Jordan are.

3. Stanley Johnson, SF, Arizona

Stanley Johnson would be a great fit in the Nuggets' system. He should be a good defensive player and will be great in transition on offense. He also has the size to guard most opposing power forwards which will let Denver be flexible with their lineups.

2. Kristaps Porzingis, PF, Latvia

Kristaps Porzingis is one of the most interesting prospects in the draft. He has drawn comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki because of his shooting ability as a 7-footer. He moves well for a big guy and should become a matchup problem in the NBA when he fully develops. It might be another year or two before he is ready to make an impact, but the Nuggets aren't exactly in position to make a run anytime soon so he would be a good fit for them.

1. Justise Winslow, SF, Duke

Justise Winslow was one of the standout performers of the NCAA tournament. He had a knack of doing whatever Duke needed at the time which speaks to his versatility. He is far more advanced on the offensive end of the court than many of the other top prospects. Winslow is also a good enough athlete to be an above-average defender in the league.

Kenneth Faried is one of the hardest NBA players to figure out. He flashes All-Star caliber brilliance some games, and pulls disappearing acts during others. Against the Miami Heat on Monday night, Faried was back doing the type of stuff that earned him the 'Manimal' nickname, as evidenced by his finish on this epic alley-oop.

Grizzlies' Chalmers Takes Cheap Shot At Nurkic

Since arriving in the NBA as a rookie out of Kansas, Mario Chalmers has had a tough road to climb as he's never really gotten a true opportunity to be the top guy. Now with Memphis, he's had an opportunity to start a few games with Mike Conley battling a back injury, but he shows in this video that he's still too immature to take advantage.
