5 Free Agents the Detroit Pistons Should Target In 2015 Offseason

After a roller coaster season in which they finished 32-50, the Detroit Pistons have plenty of big decisions to make this offseason. The Pistons will have to decide whether or not they are should re-sign their own free agents, such as Greg Monroe and Reggie Jackson, or let them walk and have money to spend elsewhere. With the Pistons trying to improve their roster in any way they can, here are five free agents they should target this offseason.

Last season the Pistons were not a terrific three-point shooting team, ranking towards the bottom third in the league in team three-point shooting percentage. A free agent who could help this is Wesley Matthews, who is close to a 40 percent career three-point shooter. Since he tore his Achilles in March, there may not be a high-priced market for Matthews, meaning the Pistons could likely sign him to a cheap short-term deal.

4. Jimmy Butler - Shooting Guard

Another shooting guard who the Pistons should target this offseason is restricted free agent Jimmy Butler. At only 25 years of age, Butler would be a nice addition to a young core that already features 21-year-old Andre Drummond. Of course, Butler will come with a hefty price tag, which means the Pistons will likely be unable to re-sign some of their own players, but having a go-to perimeter scorer is something the Pistons desperately need.

3. Reggie Jackson - Point Guard

If the Pistons want to continue to build their roster with the pieces that they already have in place, then going after Reggie Jackson this offseason makes complete sense. With Brandon Jennings out due to an Achilles injury, the Pistons will need a point guard to run the team for at least the beginning part of next season. If they hope to compete in the near future, then Jackson will need to be re-signed.

2. Patrick Beverley - Point Guard

Since Brandon Jennings is owed upwards of $ 16 million over the course of the next two seasons, the Pistons may not want to allocate most of their cap space for one position. So if the Pistons decide re-signing Reggie Jackson will cost too much and they want to target a cheaper option, then Patrick Beverley is their man. He is not much of a scorer, but Beverley will play with an added sense of toughness and aggressiveness on the defensive end.

1. Draymond Green - Small Forward/Power Forward

Speaking of toughness and aggressiveness, the No. 1 free agent target for the Pistons this offseason should be forward Draymond Green. This season with the Warriors, the 25-year-old forward has really come into his own. On the defensive end, Green would be a perfect complement to center Andre Drummond who ironically enough recently tweeted (and since deleted for tampering purposes) that he wanted Green on his team.

Pistons' Andre Drummond Hits Floor After Being Rejected By Rim

Andre Drummond did his best Carmelo Anthony impression against the New York Knicks on Saturday night. Drummond went up for a massive dunk and was hilariously rejected by the rim. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, he ended up flat on his butt on the Madison Square Garden hardwood.
