5 Free Agents The Indiana Pacers Should Target In 2015 Offseason

The Indiana Pacers are fresh off of a disappointing season that ended with a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in the final game of the regular season to end their playoff hopes. They put together an impressive season despite major injuries, and are looking to make some improvements in free agency to improve their championship chances.

Which five free agents should the Pacers target this coming offseason to achieve that goal?

5. Mo Williams, Point Guard

Mo Williams would help bring some scoring to the Pacers' bench, and his leadership and playmaking ability would be big for Indiana. His price tag may be out of Indiana's range, but he is the type of player that the Pacers could use to help take their offensive production to the next level.

4. Jameer Nelson, Point Guard

Jameer Nelson spent last season between three teams, but is exactly the type of game manager that Indiana could use as the starting point guard. Perhaps signing a player like Nelson would give the Pacers the ability to move George Hill to the shooting guard position. If they chose not to start him, Nelson would be a huge backup upgrade over C.J. Watson.

3. Josh Smith, Forward

There was a lot of negativity surrounding Josh Smith this year when he was released by the Detroit Pistons, but he has been a very valuable contributor for the Houston Rockets. Indiana could use a more athletic frontcourt, and Smith would fit into what the Pacers want as far as a faster offensive tempo is concerned. Depending on his price, he could be a very nice pickup for Indiana.

2. Rodney Stuckey, Guard

Rodney Stuckey was a huge part of the Pacers' success last season, and ended up averaging 12.6 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 3.1 APG. Bringing him back is likely going to be Indiana's No. 1 priority, and rightfully so.

1. Khris Middleton, Small Forward

Khris Middleton is one of the most underrated free agents. Milwaukee will have the right to match any offer, but the Pacers would be getting a huge piece to the puzzle if they can find a way to bring him on board. He is a deadly 3-point shooter, a strong defender, and has been noticeably improving his game over the past couple of years.
