The Charlotte Hornets are heading into the offseason with many more questions than answers after a disappointing season. They failed to make the playoffs in the lowly Eastern Conference, so there should be some changes to the roster before next year. Here are the five biggest rumors surrounding the Hornets as they prepare for the offseason.

Mo Williams came to the Hornets in a midseason trade and played well while Kemba Walker was injured. It's unclear whether or not Williams wants to return to Charlotte, but they could use his scoring off the bench. The Hornets should try to bring back the veteran guard back on a short-term deal.

4. Will Al Jefferson Return?

Al Jefferson has said that unless something crazy happens, he will use his player option to return to Charlotte next year. He would be wise to do that financially, but there is always a chance he decides to move to a better team if Charlotte starts to clean house. It will also be interesting to see if they try to get a contract extension done if he picks up his option.

Charlotte should have enough cap space to go after some of the big names in free agency. The question will be whether or not any of them will want to sign with the team. The Hornets could really use a player like Danny Green, but they would probably have to overpay him to lure him away from San Antonio.

2. Gerald Henderson's Free Agency

Gerald Henderson has already stated that he is unsure if he wants to return to Charlotte. His role on the team changed several times throughout the year, and at times he was buried on the bench in favor of younger players. His player option of $ 6 million is probably more than he can get from another team, so he might decide to stick it out one more season in Charlotte.

The addition of Lance Stephenson was supposed to help Charlotte take another step in the East. It ended up having the opposite effect. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to move on from him after just one season. It would also give them additional cap space to go after better free agents.
