5 Free Agents the San Antonio Spurs Should Target in 2015 Offseason

After a disappointing and surprising first-round exit to the Los Angeles Clippers in a grueling seven-game classic, the San Antonio Spurs have their longest summer in four years. The good news for them is that they will have plenty of time to prepare for a loaded 2015 NBA free agency class. With more than million dollars in spending room this summer, here are five free agents who Spurs should target this offseason:

No. 5 - Paul Millsap

It is unlikely that Millsap will leave the Atlanta Hawks after the remarkable season he has had with them, but you cannot help but think he would be the perfect Spur should he consider other teams. He would already be aware and comfortable running the Spurs' intricate playbook after playing for former Spurs assistant coach Mike Budenholzer, and his ability to stretch the floor thanks to his shooting would be a great weapon to have.

No. 4 - Wesley Matthews

Unless Danny Green receives an unexpectedly huge offer this offseason, which will probably not happen at this point, the Spurs will still count resigning him this summer. However, in the unlikely event that he will leave, but if he did, Matthews would be an ideal replacement. His fearless shooting and aggressive defense would make him a Popovich favorite in a heartbeat, and the Spurs should consider the idea of adding him.

No. 3 - DeAndre Jordan

Make no mistake about it -- Jordan is going to get paid this summer, and he deserves it. If the Spurs' other options to find the next heir to the Tim Duncan throne fall through, they should look at the guy whose mere presence alone played a huge part in them suffering their earliest playoff exit since 2011. Jordan is a beast and one of the best defensive players in the league. Could you imagine Kawhi Leonard and Jordan together? Scary.

No. 2 - Marc Gasol

It is super unlikely that Gasol would consider leaving the Memphis Grizzlies, being that he practically grew up there and has played there his entire career, but stranger things have happened. The Spurs are reported to have significant interest in making a run at Gasol this offseason. You can't blame them given his stellar defensive rim protection, sweet mid-range jumper, and overall just how well liked he is by his teammates.

No. 1 - LaMarcus Aldridge

Take a good, long look at that picture Spurs fans, because you might be seeing these two wearing the same uniform next season. Aldridge grew up in Texas and is reported to have a strong interest in joining the Spurs this summer, who have the money to pay him and the successful history he is looking for. Could you think of a more perfect replacement for Duncan when he retires? I sure can't.

Clippers' Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan Execute Monstrous Alley-Oop

The Los Angeles Clippers made a huge statement on Thursday night by pulverizing the San Antonio Spurs by 19 points. Sure, the Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard, but that doesn't take away from what Doc Rivers' bunch accomplished. In the fourth quarter, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan hooked up for what can only be described as a monstrous alley-oop, which was the cherry on top of an all-around phenomenal showing.
