When the 2015 NBA Draft Lottery takes place just about a week from now, representatives from 14 different NBA franchises will watch as the fate is announced in front of a live national audience. Over the years, representatives have ranged from top front office executives to owner’s children and former players. With the Philadelphia 76ers needing all the luck they can get next week, these five people would serve as perfect representatives.

When the 76ers took part in the NBA Draft Lottery last May, the franchise decided to send 76ers great Julius “Dr. J” Erving as their representative. While the top of the draft order did not play out as they were hoping, Erving did bring some luck with him as the 76ers walked away with a second top-10 draft pick via the New Orleans Pelicans.

Two years ago during the 2013 NBA Draft, general manager Sam Hinkie and the 76ers shocked the basketball world by trading then 22-year-old All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday in exchange for the draft rights to that year’s No. 6 overall pick Nerlens Noel. At the time nobody quite knew what was in store for the franchise, but as the piece that started their current rebuilding plan, Noel would be a great candidate to represent the 76ers.

He may be the brains behind the 76ers' rebuilding operation, but general manager Sam Hinkie rarely makes a public appearance. As the guy who is calling all the shots in Philadelphia, Hinkie should take to the stage next week and represent the 76ers at the draft lottery. After all, the draft is the basket in which he has placed all of his eggs thus far.

Although they had the second-worst record in the NBA during the 2013-14 season, the 76ers fell in the draft order to the No. 3 position. It may not have been the pick they were hoping for, but the Sixers did walk away with their future franchise centerpiece in Joel Embiid. Along with being the franchise’s top pick last year, Embiid has already become a fan favorite, making him a great choice to represent the franchise.

There may be other people who would make for a great representative, but nobody would be better than 76ers all-time great Allen Iverson. Back in 1996, after winning the draft lottery, the 76ers took Iverson with the top pick. Soon he would become one of the greatest players in franchise history. As the franchise’s last No. 1 overall draft pick, Iverson is the person who is best suited to represent the 76ers at the 2015 NBA Draft Lottery.

Noel Emphatically Posterizes Drummond

With Jahlil Okafor out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, Nerlens Noel had an opportunity to shine, and he took advantage. Noel makes Andre Drummond look feeble on this play, and that isn't an easy thing to do.
