Marv Albert Mentions 'Phantom Timeout' In Front Of Chris Webber, Twitter Erupts

For a brief moment, the announcer Marv Albert sounded a lot like the “Wet Bandit” Marv Merchant from the “good Home Alone movies.” In case you missed it, Albert showed up promptly for his regularly scheduled socially blind commentary, lobbing a low blow right into Chris Webber‘s pride bubble. During the second quarter of game 5 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls, Albert tripped over his tongue and then stumbled beyond the point of no return:

Yup, Albert just discussed David Blatt‘s “phantom timeout” from game 4 right in front Webber — the household name when it comes to “phantom timeouts.”

22 years later, Albert found a way to turn the knife a few more degrees. Fortunately Webber appeared to react to these comments without force-feeding Albert his own appendages. Unfortunately for Webber, Twitter took notice:
