5 Players Philadelphia 76ers Should Watch the Most At 2015 NBA Draft Combine

The 2015 NBA Draft Combine began on Tuesday, and while some of the top players in this year’s draft class declined an invitation to week long set of activities, there will be plenty of talented prospects who will showcase their skills for each of the league’s 30 franchises. With the Philadelphia 76ers holding a minimum of six total picks in the upcoming 2015 NBA Draft, these are the five players they should pay the most attention to.

When looking at their roster it is not hard to see that the only real talent the 76ers possess is in the frontcourt. While Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel appear to be the franchise’s starting big men going forward, the 76ers now have the chance to develop some younger big men just in case something happens to Embiid or Noel. With five second-round picks, 6-foot-9 Rakeem Christmas from Syracuse is someone who could be worth taking a flyer on.

4. Andrew Harrison - Point/Shooting Guard

Another projected second-round pick that the 76ers should be keeping an eye on during this week’s combine is former Kentucky guard Andrew Harrison. During his two years at Kentucky, Andrew was arguably the better of the two Harrison twins. As someone who possess good size for his position, Harrison -- should the 76ers feel that he fits their system -- would have plenty of opportunities with the team to develop into a potential quality NBA guard.

3. Delon Wright - Point Guard

Based on current projections Delon Wright is likely to be drafted at the end of the first round, but that should not deter the 76ers from monitoring him this week. Should he fall to the top of the second round -- where the 76ers have two of the first seven picks -- Wright would be a great addition due to the fact that he is more mature as a 23-year-old senior and has the ability to score at will -- something he 76ers currently need.

2. Stanley Johnson - Small Forward

Heading into next week’s draft lottery, the 76ers stand to land the No. 3 overall pick, but they do have a chance to fall all the way to No. 6. Should the 76ers fall outside of the top four, they will have to select someone other than Emmanuel Mudiay, Jahlil Okafor, D’Angelo Russell or Karl Towns. As a big-bodied forward, Stanley Johnson is worth keeping an eye on as he could fit right in with the stellar defense that the 76ers already have.

Although some of his top fellow counterparts are not participating in this week’s draft combine, guard D’Angelo Russell seems prepared to take part in all of the activities. Rumored to be the team’s top target in this year’s draft, the 76ers need to focus most of their attention towards Russell so that they can decide whether or not he can be one of the team’s top guards moving forward.

Noel Emphatically Posterizes Drummond

With Jahlil Okafor out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, Nerlens Noel had an opportunity to shine, and he took advantage. Noel makes Andre Drummond look feeble on this play, and that isn't an easy thing to do.
