5 Players the Heat Should Move On From This Offseason

The Miami Heat have had a long history of being loyal to a fault and letting people overstay their welcome -- but now is the time to make a change. Unfortunately, coaches couldn’t be on this list, so here are five players the team should move on from this offseason.

The third time was not the charm when it came to Michael Beasley’s tenure with the Miami Heat. Their best bet would be to cut ties now, rather than go through another disappointing season of waiting for the former No. 2 pick to finally reach his potential.

On rare occasions, rookie James Ennis looked like he could be a solid backup contributor, but his lack of handle proved him to be pretty unreliable. He also may be left fighting for leftover time with Henry Walker and Tyler Johnson if the team drafts a wing with the No. 10 pick -- which makes him expendable.

3. Shabazz Napier

Shabazz Napier’s historically awful rookie season put him on the fast track to being a surefire NBA Draft bust. So why not cut ties now when a versatile youngster like Tyler Johnson has shown he could be more productive?

This spot should really be reserved for Zoran Dragic, but how can you cut a guy whose brother you desperately need to sign in the offseason? Couple that with the return of Josh McRoberts, Chris Bosh, Luol Deng and a possible rookie small forward and Henry Walker’s grit and hustle minutes are out the window.

1. Luol Deng

After underwhelming seasons in Cleveland and Miami, Luol Deng may have proved he cannot find his way without coach Tom Thibodeau in Chicago. Using him for one more season would not be bad, but cutting ties would not be the end of the world either.

Kenneth Faried Throws Down Monstrous Alley-oop On Miami Heat

Kenneth Faried is one of the hardest NBA players to figure out. He flashes All-Star caliber brilliance some games, and pulls disappearing acts during others. Against the Miami Heat on Monday night, Faried was back doing the type of stuff that earned him the 'Manimal' nickname, as evidenced by his finish on this epic alley-oop.
