The Los Angeles Lakers will look to improve their roster this season, and may need to make some bold trades. They have some young players that could be part of a bigger trade, as well as a couple veterans that might need a change of scenery. Here are five players that the team should consider trading this offseason.

5. Nick Young

Nick Young had a rough season with the Lakers, shooting a poor percentage from the field and struggling to get along with coach Byron Scott. He is a fan favorite and his scoring is important to the second unit, but he could net the organization future assets or be part of a bigger trade.

4. Ryan Kelly

Ryan Kelly struggled in his second season with the team, and failed to show that he can be a reliable role player. However, he is still young, and other teams may be intrigued by his outside shooting from the power forward position. He has a cheap contract and could be added to a larger deal.

3. Julius Randle

The Lakers have high hopes for Randle, and it is unlikely that they will trade him unless they are going after a true superstar. He might be their best asset, as he is a young power forward with a lot of potential going forward. Trading Randle would not be ideal, but if it nets them a star, then it must be done.

2. Jordan Hill

If the Lakers decide to pick up the team option on Jordan Hill, then they will have a large expiring contract on their hands that may become a huge asset when the trade deadline rolls around. Even with an increase in the salary cap, teams may want to clear more room for next year’s free-agent class, and expiring contracts have yielded nice assets in the past.

Jordan Clarkson played well at the end of last season, and is another intriguing prospect on the Lakers' roster. He has a very promising future, but he could help the Lakers land a superstar as part of a trade. The Lakers will want to keep him, but his potential makes him a valuable trade piece.
