5 Players the Philadelphia 76ers Should Consider Trading This Offseason

With the NBA Draft just about a month away, the Philadelphia 76ers will look to continue adding new young talent to their roster. While they will be focused on adding talent, the 76ers will also be focused on exploring trades for the players currently on their roster. From expiring contracts to younger talent, these are five players the 76ers should consider trading this off-season.

He may have been one of the few candidates for this season’s Rookie of the Year Award, but that doesn’t mean Nerlens Noel is untouchable. Once the centerpiece for their rebuilding plan, the 76ers now find themselves questioning if Noel can fit alongside Joel Embiid. If the 76ers don’t feel Noel is a natural fit in their lineup then they should do their due diligence and see if another team will offer them a lucrative package in exchange for Noel.

4. Jerami Grant

Selected with the No. 39 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Jerami Grant had a productive rookie season with the 76ers. Throughout the year Grant was well-rounded on the court, but his developing three-point shot was what stood out most during his first year. With five second-round picks in this year’s draft the 76ers will be able to find themselves some solid role players which could make Grant expendable should they want to acquire future draft picks.

3. Jason Richardson

When the NBA’s free agency period officially begins at the start of July, 34-year old veteran Jason Richardson will no longer be a member of the 76ers. During this year’s upcoming NBA Draft – which takes place at the end of June – the 76ers could be one of the night’s most active teams in regards to trades. Should another team want to acquire an expiring contract in exchange for future picks, the 76ers should consider offering up Richardson.

Just like Richardson, Luc Mbah a Moute will become free agent this July. With him having no real longer-term future with the franchise, the 76ers should look to trade Mbah a Moute for whatever they can get to a team who is in need of either an expiring contract or another veteran perimeter defender.

He may have been the team’s starting point guard for most of the first half of last season, but should the 76ers select Emmanuel Mudiay or D’Angelo Russell with their top pick in this year’s draft, Wroten will be relegated to a bench role in 2015. As a proven scorer, Wroten could help a number of teams, especially playoff teams who needed an added scoring punch off their bench.

Noel Emphatically Posterizes Drummond

With Jahlil Okafor out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, Nerlens Noel had an opportunity to shine, and he took advantage. Noel makes Andre Drummond look feeble on this play, and that isn't an easy thing to do.
