5 Free Agents the Los Angeles Clippers Should Target in 2015 Offseason

The Los Angeles Clippers were knocked out of the playoffs over the weekend, and now face the tough task of improving their roster this offseason. Unfortunately, they do not have a lot of cap space to work with, and will have to rely on convincing free agents to take less money to come and play for a contender. Here are five free agents who they should consider this summer.

5. Kendrick Perkins

Perkins cannot necessarily be counted on to play huge minutes, but he is battle-tested and could give them quality minutes off of the bench. He has played for Rivers and would bring toughness to the team at a discounted price. He may not be a game-changer, but he knows what it takes to win and the Clippers need players like him on their roster.

4. Wesley Johnson

Johnson has struggled the last two seasons with the Lakers, and will likely be a cheaper option on the wing. He is extremely athletic and has shown signs of becoming a good defender, but needs to play more consistently. He has the tools to be good role player, and may be a better fit with the Clippers than he was with the Lakers.

3. Amar'e Stoudemire

The Clippers need scoring off of the bench, and Stoudemire wants a shot at winning a ring. He has earned plenty of money and may be willing to take a discount in order to play with a contender. Injuries are still a concern and they would have to manage his minutes to keep him fresh for the playoffs.

2. Dorell Wright

Wright did not get a lot of playing time last season, but is a good shooter who can give them size on the wing. He has ties to Los Angeles and would probably be willing to come for the minimum.

1. Paul Pierce

The Clippers might be regretting not bringing in Pierce last offseason, and it is hard to see him declining his player option after a good playoff run with the Wizards. But he played for Rivers, is originally from the area and is the type of veteran who the Clippers need in the playoffs. He would add scoring, toughness and a winning attitude that could help the Clippers get over the hump.

Clippers' Austin Rivers Brutally Rejected By Rim On Dunk Attempt

There's always something that can be learned from making a mistake. For Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers, it's important he understands he mustn't ever attempt to dunk a basketball in an NBA game ever again after this massive rim rejection. I'm sure his father, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, will have a talk with him about this unfortunate scenario.

Jeff Van Gundy Wants NBA Dance Teams To Quit Smiling

During Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, ESPN broadcaster Jeff Van Gundy took exception to the fact that the Clippers dance team was smiling during its routine despite Los Angeles trailing by a significant amount. Well, in what can be described as a bit of poetic justice, the Clippers ended up pulling off an epic comeback win, and Van Gundy was put in his place.

Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins Chucks Ball At Chris Paul

DeMarcus Cousins didn't do anything wrong on this play, per se, but he undoubtedly made sure to put some extra mustard on the toss. I mean, look at his face! Chris Paul handled it correctly by not turning it into a big thing, but he couldn't have been incredibly pleased.
