5 Players the Detroit Pistons Should Consider Trading This Offseason

The Detroit Pistons don't have many trade assets, but they can still look to make a few smaller moves this offseason. Andre Drummond is the only untouchable piece on the current roster. That leaves a lot of room for creativity for Stan Van Gundy as he prepares for his second offseason as the Pistons' GM. Here are five players that he should at least consider trading.

The Pistons have a team option to bring Caron Butler back next season. He can still be a valuable piece on a winning team that is looking for a veteran presence. Detroit would be better off using his roster spot on a younger player as they build for the future. Getting a future second-round pick in return would be a good deal for Detroit.

4. Greg Monroe

Anything involving Greg Monroe would have to be a sign and trade. Detroit would love to get something back when Monroe's inevitable departure happens. The problem is that it would require a team to pay Monroe the max to pull off a sign and trade. The market for Monroe might not go that high, and the Pistons will have to watch him go.

3. Shawne Williams

Shawne Williams has a cheap contract and a unique skill set which makes him an easy player to trade. His ability to stretch the floor as a power forward is something a lot of teams are looking for. Detroit already has Anthony Tolliver, who does everything that Williams can. Detroit might be able to pull a second round pick for Williams.

2. Jodie Meeks

Jodie Meeks is one of the better assets on the Pistons. Trading him would mean they are looking to make a complete makeover from last year. Meeks would be a really good sixth man on a contending team. Stan Van Gundy should be calling up Doc Rivers and seeing what he can get in return for Meeks.

1. Brandon Jennings

It's hard to imagine that Brandon Jennings and Reggie Jackson can co-exist on the same team. It appears that the Pistons will commit to Jackson long term this offseason. The problem is that they would be selling low on Jennings, as he is recovering from a torn Achilles. If they get the right deal, then the Pistons shouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on a trade involving Jennings.

Pistons' Andre Drummond Hits Floor After Being Rejected By Rim

Andre Drummond did his best Carmelo Anthony impression against the New York Knicks on Saturday night. Drummond went up for a massive dunk and was hilariously rejected by the rim. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, he ended up flat on his butt on the Madison Square Garden hardwood.
