5 Players the Washington Wizards Should Consider Trading This Offseason

The Washington Wizards were right on the verge of something special during the playoffs, but instead they are already on vacation. Their last series versus the Atlanta Hawks was super competitive, and unfortunately Paul Pierce's 3-point buzzer-beater in Game 6 to potentially force overtime came just after the red light went on. Here are some players Washington should move on from this offseason.

Nene Hilario's performance in Game 6 against the Hawks was embarrassing. There were a lot of folks who came up short in that clincher for Atlanta, but Nene had almost as many fouls (three) as points (five) in what was truly a heartbreaking loss. The Wizards would likely have to add a draft pick in any trade to get rid of him.

I liked what Ramon Sessions did at times for Washington, but I am not sure he is the answer for them going forward. A point guard like Aaron Brooks or Nate Robinson would really help to spell Wall. Sessions brings a lot to the table on the offensive end; however, the Wizards need someone who can play with defensive energy as well.

3. Kris Humphries

Kris Humphries is more famous for his exploits off the court, but he only played five minutes in the postseason after averaging eight PPG and over six RPG in the 2014-2015 regular season. He is making a bit too much with the Wizards paying him over eight million dollars in the next two years of what was originally a three-year deal.

2. Marcin Gortat

Marcin Gortat apparently only played 12 minutes in Game 6 against the Hawks due to food poisoning, but it is not a good sign when one of your key players does not show up in the postseason's biggest game. Gortat might have some legitimate trade value despite his contract running through the 2018-2019 season, because he almost averaged a double-double while displaying decent chemistry with John Wall.

Martell Webster's contract runs through the 2016-2017 season; however, he is not someone who contributed that much this year. Maybe the New York Knicks or Los Angeles Lakers would be dumb enough to accept a trade package including him. l'm not sure how he managed to get such a big contract offer from the Wizards in the first place, but it is time to move on and find another backup wing player.

Wizards' Drew Gooden Turns Bizarre Possession Into And-One Chance

This has to go down as one of the strangest plays in the NBA this season. Washington's Drew Gooden throws a bad pass which bounces right back to him, and then manages to turn a feeble shot attempt into an and-one opportunity thanks to boneheaded defense from Derrick Favors. Sadly, Gooden missed the subsequent free-throw attempt.
