5 Players the Orlando Magic Should Explore Trading this Offseason

After another sub-30 win season, it seems like there will never be an end to the bleakness for the Orlando Magic. But with three dynamic young players as their nucleus, the future is looking bring for the boys in pinstripes. But the roster surrounding Victor Oladipo, Elfrid Payton and Nikola Vucevic needs to be tinkered with, and here are the five players who the Magic need to explore trading to improve the roster.

Green had some moments last season, but at age 33, he doesn’t really fit the overall picture for the Magic going forward. He is better off on a contending team than a rebuilding one.

4. Andrew Nicholson

After a solid rookie season, Nicholson took a step back last year and found himself at the end of the bench. He can still be a productive player, however, which is why the Magic need to think about what they can get for him in the trade market.

3. Tobias Harris

Harris has developed into a solid small/power forward, but I don’t see how he fits into the Magic’s future plans with Aaron Gordon on board, and a deep draft ahead of them. Maybe the Magic need to explore a sign-and-trade to get some value back in return.

2. Channing Frye

Frye was supposed to be the guy who stretched the floor for Orlando, but that never came to pass, and he actually regressed last year. With Aaron Gordon already on the team, and flushed with cash to sign a competent shooter, it’s time for the Magic to own up to last year’s mistake, and ship Frye out of town.

1. Maurice Harkless

This one pains me because I really like Harkless, and I wouldn’t be mad at all if he was still on the roster next season. But I just don’t think the Magic know how to use him, and he would be better off with a team that could use his athleticism and defense much better than Orlando did.
