Only Takes One Bad Egg

All it takes is one bad egg to ruin a batch of cookies. The Dallas Mavericks learned that the hard way with Rajon Rondo and the ugly first round postseason collapse. As the era of Dirk Nowitzki comes to a close, Dallas is in search of the star's replacement. It will be no easy task to complete, but here are five players who should be avoided at all costs.

Patrick Beverley has proven to be a solid point guard with great defensive attributes. He isn't much of an offensive monster and he isn't exactly of star caliber. If this past season is any sort of omen for Dallas and point guards, then they should just avoid Beverley all together.

4. Josh Smith

Josh Smith is easily one of the most inconsistent players in the league. From the Atlanta Hawks all the way to the Houston Rockets, Smith is still struggling with his basketball identity. He will either camp on the 3-point line and chuck bricks all day or he can have a burst of points. Smith might even surprise you with a fury of assists every 50 games or so. He will seek money and some stupid team will give him it.

3. Rajon Rondo

This one already seemed too obvious, but I just wanted to make sure.

2. Omer Asik

Omer Asik threw a fit in Houston when Dwight Howard arrived and was granted his wish. However, He didn't exactly flourish with the Pelicans and is not necessarily starting lineup material. Asik is a good option as a backup off the bench, only if he is cheap. To simply put it, he is not worth Dallas' time.

1. DeAndre Jordan

It is pretty much a done deal that DeAndre Jordan will receive max money, but he isn't worth it. Sure, he is a double-double guy and a shot-blocking machine, but you can argue that Chris Paul has made him. Jordan can rebound and dunk, and that's about it. He does not have his own offensive game and will not put the post moves on you. He is worth eight figures, but not max money.

5 Players Who Won't Be Back With Mavericks Next Season

Breaking News

After losing DeAndre Jordan in the worst way imaginable, the Dallas Mavericks looked to be a broken team. No one was expecting them to make the playoffs. Still, the Mavs are one of the older teams in the league and they will definitely try to get younger in the offseason. These are five guys who won't be around in 2016-17.

Dirk Nails Game-Winner, Gets Love From Kobe

Kobe Bryant wasn't able to lace up for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, but he still managed to make the highlight reels on multiple occasions. After Dirk Nowitzki nailed what turned out to be the game-winning jumper, he stumbled backward into Bryant and received a pat of approval. This encounter is the definition of the saying 'game recognizes game' as the two players are both legends and future Hall of Famers.

Josh Smith Fakes Dirk Nowitzki Out of His Shoes

Josh Smith has returned to the Houston Rockets via trade, and he made the most of his first game back. He scored 16 points off the bench, including this drive on Dirk Nowitzki that made Smith look like Hakeem Olajuwon. Could Ty Lawson and Josh Smith be the spark duo off the bench that rejuvenates this Rockets team?

Watch Nowitzki Spoof Trump In Hilarious Ad

Although he may not look like it, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is one of the funniest guys in the NBA. He was up to his old tricks again in this video, and I couldn't stop laughing after watching this.
