Houston Rockets Show Fighting Spirit in Game 5

James Harden

Thomas Shea-USA Today Sports

The Houston Rockets just will not die. Even after everybody counted them out after their terrifying effort in Game 3, the Rockets found a way to break the Golden State Warriors‘ stranglehold.

Golden State had beaten Houston eight straight times, but the Rockets are the little basketball team that could. They rode James Harden to some much-needed momentum that they hope will carry over into Game 5 back in Oakland. If anything, they can look to their performance in the first two games for inspiration, as the Rockets were competitive in both contests before suffering heartbreaking losses.

There is no doubt in Houston’s mind that they can play well in one of the NBA’s toughest venues, but their season now depends on a victory in Oracle Arena.

Golden State should not get too comfortable. The Warriors should educate themselves on the Rockets’ comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers and suffer have the same letdown. Although the Warriors are indeed the best team in the league, they have not gone this far as a team, and they could be prone to letting their foot off the pedal.

James Harden Refuses To Play Defense -- Again

James Harden has a terrible reputation when it comes to playing defense. There's no denying what he's capable of offensively, but defending just isn't his cup of tea. He proved this to be the case once again in Houston's matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, and his feeble efforts are simply inexcusable.
