The 2014-15 season was one of growth for both Brad Stevens and the Boston Celtics. Projected as a lottery-bound team before the season started, the Celtics fought hard night in and night out and consistently outworked teams en route to an unexpected playoff appearance. They gave fans a reason to tune in each and every night. Let's take a look at the top five Celtics games from this past year.

Despite losing the game, this was one of the more entertaining and exciting games of the year for Boston. The team rallied from 23 points down in the second half and forced overtime on an Evan Turner buzzer-beating three. It was also the coming out party for Marcus Smart. He poured in 23 points off the bench, went toe to toe with John Wall and gave the Celtics a glimpse of just how bright his future is.

Despite getting dominated inside by one of the best frontcourt duos in the Western Conference, the Celtics hung in there. In a back and forth game with 14 lead changes, the final one came on a miraculous three-point play by Marcus Smart. A couple possessions later, a clutch Avery Bradley jumper helped the Celtics hang on. The signature win opened the eyes of Celtics fans as they realized that the team had turned a corner.

The Celtics held a nine-point lead early in the fourth quarter only to see the Jazz come storming back. When Gordon Hayward sank a jumper with a little over one second left, the Celtics seemed headed for heartbreak. After two timeouts, Brad Stevens drew up a perfect play. Marcus Smart lobbed a beautiful pass into Tyler Zeller who laid the ball off the glass as time expired and the Celtics escaped with a victory.

The end of regulation saw Evan Turner sink a series of clutch baskets, only to have DeMar DeRozan answer every time and send the game to overtime. Late in OT, Marcus Smart and Lou Williams traded a pair of cold-blooded three-pointers. Down one with less than five seconds left, Isaiah Thomas lost the basketball, only to see Smart scoop it up, lay it in at the buzzer and give the Celtics a hard-fought victory against the first-place Raptors.

In the final game before the All-Star break, the Celtics were outclassed for the first three quarters of this game. Yet the team rallied back from a 14 point fourth-quarter deficit, and Evan Turner's floater with less than a second left gave them their first lead of the game and a win over the top team in the Eastern Conference. The team went on to win 20 of their final 31 games and earn an improbable playoff berth.

Celtics' Hunter Can't Believe Isaiah Thomas Denied Handshake

Things aren't easy for NBA rookies. Not only do many of them not get to play much, but they also don't get an incredible amount of respect from their veteran teammates. This was the case recently for former Georgia State standout R.J. Hunter, who was savagely rejected by Isaiah Thomas when he offered him a congratulatory handshake.
