He hasn't played for a winning team yet in his career, so it will be interesting to see if he values going to a contender over money. Here are the top potential landing spots for Monroe.

While it seems likely Monroe will be out the door, the Pistons remain hopeful that they will be able to bring him back. Stan Van Gundy has stated it's the team's top priority. The best chance of this happening is if Monroe doesn't get anything close to what he is looking for on the open market. He may decide that the best-case scenario is staying in Detroit with fellow big man Andre Drummond.

The Spurs could lessen the load Tim Duncan has to take on in the regular season by signing Monroe. He could also be a long-term replacement for Duncan whenever he decides to retire.
