Gregg Popovich

The San Antonio Spurs fell out of the 2015 NBA Playoffs in thrilling fashion to the Los Angeles Clippers, but will feel confident that they will be back in the playoffs next season. With the 2015 NBA Draft rapidly approaching, the Spurs have some big decisions to make regarding who to draft and who will step into major roles in the future. Here are the five best fits for the team in the 2015 NBA Draft.

5. Justin Anderson SF – Virginia

A hard working, defensive minded player who is an absolutely phenomenal scorer, Anderson could be a crucial bench player for Gregg Popovich as a rookie. He would likely be a top 15 pick if it was not due to his injury, so the Spurs would be getting a steal.

4. Christian Wood PF – UNLV

Wood showed flashes of greatness in his time at UNLV. Who better for the young player to learn under than Tim Duncan?

3. Jordan Mickey PF – LSU

My personal favorite player in the draft, Mickey does a little bit of everything, just like the Spurs want in a rookie.

2. Rashad Vaughn SG – UNLV

Vaughn is a scoring machine who will need some time to adjust to all of the aspects that succeeding in the NBA requires, but he will have time to develop with the Spurs. Vaughn could see limited playing time as a rookie and be a star down the road.

1. R.J. Hunter SG – Georgia State

All he does is win and score. Hunter was the darling of the 2015 NCAA tournament and understands doing what it takes to win. With a coach like Popovich and teammates like Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, the sky is the limit.

Watch Omri Casspi's Comic Stumble On Defense

The way the San Antonio Spurs share the ball always challenges the opposition's defense, but Omri Casspi brought some comic relief by tripping over himself on Saturday night.

Clippers' Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan Execute Monstrous Alley-Oop

The Los Angeles Clippers made a huge statement on Thursday night by pulverizing the San Antonio Spurs by 19 points. Sure, the Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard, but that doesn't take away from what Doc Rivers' bunch accomplished. In the fourth quarter, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan hooked up for what can only be described as a monstrous alley-oop, which was the cherry on top of an all-around phenomenal showing.
