NBA Draft: Predicting Every Pick For Philadelphia 76ers

Entering the 2015 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers will have six picks at their disposal, which will allow them to do many things. While they are likely to take one of the draft’s top four players with the No. 3 overall pick, the 76ers have various options when it comes to their five second-round picks. Should the 76ers stay put and hold onto all six of their picks, here are the players they are most likely to walk away with on draft night.

Round 1, Pick 3: D'Angelo Russell, Guard

With the No. 3 overall pick, the 76ers will likely take the best available talent that is on the board. That talent is D’Angelo Russell. During his one and only season at Ohio State, Russell showed that despite his lack of versatility, he was one of the best scorers in the entire country. At 6-foot-5, Russell also has great size for the point guard position, something that this current 76ers regime loves.

Round 2, Pick 35: Cliff Alexander, Power Forward

Before he arrived at Kansas in 2014, there was a lot of hype surrounding Cliff Alexander. However, fast forward one season and one ineligibility ruling later and Alexander now finds himself as a borderline first-round selection. Should he fall to the second round – which is a distinct possibility – look for the 76ers to jump all over him as they will get a possible first-round talent on a non-guaranteed second-round pick contract.

Round 2, Pick 37: Mouhammadou Jaiteh, Center

Whether he is stashed for a year or two or not, someone who the 76ers will not be able to pass on at pick No. 37 is center Mouhammadou Jaiteh from France. Jaiteh not only has the strength and length to play in the NBA right away, but he also has the ability to score from the inside and dominate on the boards. During this year’s NBA Draft Combine, Jaiteh was one of the event’s most productive players.

Round 2, Pick 47: Olivier Hanlan, Guard

Although they have a plethora of them, the 76ers will not stash all five of their second-round picks. So with the No. 47 overall pick, Olivier Hanlan of Boston College would be a solid addition for next season. At 6-foot-4, Hanlan has the size to play either guard position – something the 76ers like – and he also has the versatility to score from anywhere on the court.

Round 2, Pick 58: Timothe Luwawu, Shooting Guard/Small Forward

After a number of trades prior to the 2015 NBA Draft, the 76ers will own two of the draft’s last three picks. With the No. 58 pick, the 76ers could look to grab another player who they can stash. That player could be Timothe Luwawu of France. At 6-foot-7, Luwawu has good size for a perimeter player. At only 20 years of age, he is a good investment for the rebuilding 76ers.

The last pick in the NBA Draft has not historically produced much talent and that trend will likely continue this year. With four other picks in the second round, the 76ers are likely to use the No. 60 pick on a player who they can stash overseas. Nikola Milutinov – a 7-foot center from Serbia – is someone who could fit the bill for the 76ers.

Emmanuel Mudiay Devastates Philadelphia 76ers With Buzzer-Beater

The Philadelphia 76ers nearly cemented their fourth road win of the season on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. Philadelphia was up two points with just seconds remaining when rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay nailed a prayer shot from outside the arch as time expired to give the Nuggets a one-point victory. The 2015-16 NBA season can't end soon enough for the lowly 76ers, who are now 9-63.

Noel Emphatically Posterizes Drummond

With Jahlil Okafor out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, Nerlens Noel had an opportunity to shine, and he took advantage. Noel makes Andre Drummond look feeble on this play, and that isn't an easy thing to do.
