5 Biggest Washington Wizards Free Agency Rumors Heading Into June

John Wall has not had a great offseason so far. After being kicked off of an airplane in Las Vegas during Memorial Day weekend, there are questions popping up about his leadership ability and dedication. Will he lead the Washington Wizards to the Eastern Conference Finals next season? A lot of that will depend on the return of Paul Pierce and the health of Bradley Beal, but here are some players who could also help them in free agency.

Marco Belinelli didn't have his best season as a pro; however, his 3-point shooting, 37.4 percent from behind the arc in 2014-15, would be a fantastic fit in Washington when paired with Wall's ability to penetrate the paint. The San Antonio Spurs will do their best to keep Belinelli, but the Wizards could offer him an expanded role.

I think Pierce has seen enough. His near buzzer-beater against the Atlanta Hawks would not be a bad shot to retire on, but I believe he will be back in uniform next season with the Los Angeles Clippers. That would be a sad sight for Wizards fans, and unfortunately Pierce will probably be suiting up next year along with Chris Paul.

If the Wizards don't go after or land Belinelli, then you can bet that they will give Anthony Morrow a phone call. Morrow never looked fully comfortable in Oklahoma City, and the SG would be a lethal weapon in Washington if he is okay with coming off the bench. A piece like him could be crucial to getting the Wizards over the hump next season.

I applaud Rasual Butler for his hot streak of play last year, but it was bound to end at some point. Butler's age of 36 is certainly a factor in whether or not the Wizards will bring him back, and I anticipate they will save their cap room for 2016 and a certain DMV native.

A report recently came out that Kevin Durant would only leave the OKC Thunder for the Wizards, but this does not mean he will necessarily abandon the team that drafted him. I think a lot of his decision will come down to the maturation of Wall and Beal. Hopefully the Wizards can at least make it to the Eastern Conference Finals next year and prove to KD that they are worthy of his services.

Wizards' Drew Gooden Turns Bizarre Possession Into And-One Chance

This has to go down as one of the strangest plays in the NBA this season. Washington's Drew Gooden throws a bad pass which bounces right back to him, and then manages to turn a feeble shot attempt into an and-one opportunity thanks to boneheaded defense from Derrick Favors. Sadly, Gooden missed the subsequent free-throw attempt.
