After a tumultuous year that saw one of the worst regular season records in franchise history, the New York Knicks are looking to bounce back in major way through the 2015 NBA Draft. With the fourth overall pick, the Knicks have a plethora of top tier players to choose from, and who they select could determine the success of this team going forward. Here are five perfect first-round fits for the New York Knicks out of the 2015 NBA Draft.

5. Mario Hezonja

Mario Hezonja should only be considered a last option for the Knicks in the first round. Hezonja is arguably the second best combo guard in the draft, and this is a position the Knicks need to strengthen on their roster. Hezonja has an intriguing blend of athleticism and shooting ability, something the Knicks most recent backcourt rotation truly lacked.

4. Emmanuel Mudiay

Outside of D’Angelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay is the best point guard coming out of the draft, and with the Knicks guard position reeling, the organization would be wise to take a look at using their fourth overall pick on the feisty guard. Mudiay possesses phenomenal physical tools, has extremely strong ball handling abilities, and is a ridiculous athlete in the open court. These tangibles make Mudiay a great option as a starting point guard.

3. Willie Cauley-Stein

If the Knicks are in the market for a high-end defensive center, look no further than Willie Cauley-Stein. The 7’1 center has the capability to be a real game changer on the defensive end with his incredible versatility and agility. Although on the offensive end he isn’t as prolific, Cauley-Stein runs the floor better than any center in the draft. If the Knicks were looking for a youth resurgence, Cauley-Stein would be a great building block.

2. Justise Winslow

This is the player many NBA Draft Experts have pegged the Knicks selecting with their fourth overall pick. Justise Winslow is the best wing player coming out of the draft, and would fill many needs for the Knicks on the perimeter. Defense is absolutely his calling card, as Winslow can guard every position on the floor. Rebounding is another strength of Winslow’s, which is something the Knicks desperately need from their front court rotation.

1. D'Angelo Russell

If D’Angelo Russell ends up making it to the fourth overall pick, the Knicks would be crazy not to select the best point guard in the 2015 NBA Draft. Although Russell isn’t the most athletic, his 6'5 frame and high end shooting abilities make him extremely versatile. His size also makes him a top rebounder for a guard, which is something the Knicks also need desperately from their backcourt.
