5 Offseason Improvements Indiana Pacers PG George Hill Must Make

George Hill spent a good chunk of the season on the bench with injuries, but the Indiana Pacers saw a major improvement in their team when he came back to the court. He is, without question, one of the biggest positives that the Pacers took from the 2014-15 season, and is expected to come back even stronger next season. What five improvements must he focus on making this offseason in order to reach his full potential?

5. Improved Playmaking Ability

Larry Bird has talked about upgrading the point guard position, but that idea could change after George Hill's impressive play last season. If he wants to remain as the Pacers' starting point guard, Hill is going to need to improve as a playmaker for his teammates. He had some issues in that area last season, and has yet to show the assist numbers that Indiana would like to see from the point guard position.

4. Offensive Consistency

Indiana saw George Hill take a major step in the right direction on the offensive side of the basketball. He ended up averaging 16.1 points per game, while shooting an impressive 47.7 percent from the floor overall and 35.8 percent from behind the three-point arc. There is no question that he has the potential to improve even more offensively, but his consistency is going to need to improve as well.

3. More Vocal Leadership

As the 2014-15 season moved forward, it was apparent that George Hill was not a vocal leader. If the Pacers are going to take the next step in 2015-16, they are going to need him to become much more of a leader at the point guard position. Hill has the capability to step up and be the leader that the Pacers need him to be, and that will be an area that he is much stronger in next year.

2. Get Healthy and Improve Strength

If the Indiana Pacers are going to take the next step during the 2015-16 season, they are going to need George Hill to get stronger and stay healthy. This offseason is going to be a lot of hard work once again for him, and improving his upper body and core strength is going to be a major necessity. He will be much more capable of finishing through contact at the rim, which will also go a long way towards improving his consistency.

1. Dominance Down the Stretch

Paul George will be making a comeback at 100 percent next season, but he will need help closing out games in the fourth quarter. Lance Stephenson was his running mate two years ago, and that role will fall to George Hill, assuming the Pacers don't make any major changes. Hill will need to be a much more dominant fourth quarter scorer, and will have to find more ways to impact the game in the clutch.

A video posted by NBA (@nba) on

Russell Westbrook is probably the most violent dunker in the NBA, but after watching Indiana Pacers forward Myles Turner on this play, he's not far behind. I know it's cliche, but it literally looks like he's mad at the rim given the ferocity he attacked it with.

Curry Shows Off With Half-Court Shot
